Rainy King - Teacher, Artist, Photographer, Ceramicist

Rainy is a proud Wayilwan woman, living and practicing on country in Coonamble NSW.

Rainy spent over 20 years teaching students with special needs, embedding various art forms into her lessons, as a way of engagement, self expression and therapy.

Rainy is now a fulltime artist, working from her rusty tin shed studio in her backyard, and is often seen out and about photographing families, weddings, community, cultural and sporting events.

She also travels around rural NSW facilitating and delivering various art workshops for both children and adults.

Rainy attribues her arts practice to her personal healing, and wants to support inspire and empower other Aboriginal women to engage in art as a way of overcoming traumas and connecting with community and culture as she has done.
