Music Instrumental Lessons

An interview with Jerome Shepherd, music student with Warraan Widji Arts

Children are invited to take up learning an instrument. Lessons are provided at no cost to families. We believe it is every child’s right to learn a musical instrument.

Playing a musical instrument benefits cognitive (learning/brain) development in children.

WWA seeks funds to engage culturally competent and experienced music tutors to teach Warren youth how to play an instrument and/or learn how to sing.

Our new building will provide a purpose-built space for youth to practise their instruments. Instruments are on loan or given as a permanent gift to each child depending on the child’s need. This is made possible through the generosity of donors.

A number of WWA music students were able to perform on 26 November 2022 at our inaugural WWA youth family and friends’ concert.

We are very proud of all the young people who have learned an instrument since we began this service to our youth in 2021:
